Sensonic N520 PND

First attempt by MCL in the PND market, a distributor more familiar with its low cost range of sensonic mouse. IT  is based in Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur

The device is powered by the traditional SiRF-A4 chips. It is using an ultra-slim casing. Thus limited the size of the battery. and The function of the speaker will be slightly soft.

It operated on Window CE and using a old user interface installed in most Cap Ayam brand PND. therefore, it is a proven UI!! The casing is also based on a "public mould" thus, it is not surprising to see the same products on the web.

Many beautiful promoter would like you to believe it is made in Taiwan and NOT China. In fact, it is made in Shenzhen, China. Then again, 95% of Electronic gadgets like PC, Iphone, Dell, HP are made by foxconn in SZ anyways.

N520 is also the first to use the OEM copy of Falome by SMap. This company is of course another shell  company setup by Maction. As the "x" series like X5, X6 of OEM software already being exclusively licensed to M3asia.

falome resembles the original "X3" except all the familiar icons have been re-arranged. Navi desktop is rather clustered. The layout is totally not appealing. So much so that the Goozee GPS by Clarion have decided to ignore it. That will be another stories.

N520 is loaded with older verion of the MFM map. While waiting for MFM to generate a new map, Maction decided to release a MFM map based on the latest April  data.

This caused an outcry from MFM leader. Subsequently, it was removed from their website.

With a retail price of RM599.00/RSP RM649. I believe it should be cheaper. Much cheaper.

My choice is still with Holux 62E at RM499.00
