All is not well at MFM! The founders, Anthony Yong and some of the seniors members have decided to call it quit after a major disagreement with the releases of MFM-Papago map.
The founder is not new to controversy. There is even an anti antyong blog against him for whatever reasons. It just ain't pretty

The blog seems a bit lame in reasoning. Clearly there is a conflicts of interests.
Looking back, He did come to his senses and didn't renew his contract with M3Asia. As you dig further, it is clear why M3Asia has an interest in MFM. M3Asia secured Papago distribution in Malaysia. Papago is just a navigation software. it is useless without a map. With Antyong working for M3asia, M3asia immediately solved its problems.
Antyong demonstrated some human quality when he discovered the his map only benefited one party. He has been misleaded. He and MFM have been exploited.
With MFM-papago free maps, thousands and thousands of Wayway and Papago being sold. The users and customers of M3 put an greater pressure for MFM to continue to provide weekly or bi-weekly map update. They are getting bold and demanding.
M3Asia is making huge profits out of MFM free map. MFM's forum also take care some of the support issues. That is marriage made in heaven.
Antyong could clearly see his map is out of control. Maction, the maker of papago created a new baseline version of X3 called falome for oem market. Unfortunately, Maction decided to generate their own free map without prior consent of MFM. Mactions also started selling MFM free map in their own online store at mobuy.com.tw.
The only right things for antyong to do is to stop the MFM released until the issues of copyrights have been resolved. Unfortunately, this has not gone down well with the rest of the users and contributors. who are just interested in the maps.
to be continue....
